BN- Lawyer Argues Prisoner�s Meals Fail To Meet Basic Nutrition Standards - CityNews: "Food provided for Toronto�s prisoners is coming under fire.

Craig Bottomley, a lawyer representing the alleged president of the Toronto chapter of the Hells Angels, is filing a lawsuit to challenge the standard of the meals.

He is asking a judge to order his client, John Neal, be provided with more nutritious food to eat and drink when his October 22. trial.

Bottomley argues that it�s impossible for his client to focus on defending himself if he�s hungry.

The Toronto Police Service is responsible for prisoner�s meals. Each meal costs $1.19.

A typical lunch meal consists of a sandwich, often cheese and a glass of water mixed with flavour crystals. Vegetarians are often served a piece of lettuce and tomato on a hamburger bun.
