Police and the Ottawa Fire Department hazardous materials unit arrived at the Price Chopper grocery store in the city's east end to investigate reports a pipe bomb might have been found on a wooden pallet.
Police say it appears to have been a device from a nearby construction site.
The store was given the all-clear shortly after 10:30 a.m.
Early reports said the package was found outside the rear of the store by a garbage bin and brought inside."
