BIKER NEWS: ALLEGED Hells Angel member Vadim Volkov was under police surveillance

BN- ALLEGED Hells Angel bikie gang member Vadim Volkov was under police surveillance for two years as part of a drug trafficking investigation.

VOLKOV, 33, is facing a raft of drug trafficking and supply charges following the Queensland Crime and Corruption Commission's (QCCC) Operation Amulet, which wound up late last month.

Police raids at the start of August allegedly netted substantial amounts of drugs, cash and weapons.

Volkov was arrested and charged after the raids, with further charges being laid by the QCCC at the end of the month with the conclusion of their investigation.

AAP understands the raids were ordered after Volkov discovered a bugging device in his car.

During a mention of Volkov's case at Southport Magistrates Court on Friday, his lawyer Jason Jacobson told the court his client had apparently been under police surveillance for two years.

Mr Jacobson said the brief of evidence against his client could be "quite voluminous" with "extensive" telephone intercept records to be presented.

Volkov appeared by video-link for Friday's mention where the matter was adjourned until February 4.

Volkov, who is being held in custody under Queensland's tough anti-bikie legislation, will make a bail application at the Supreme Court next Friday.

He is also set to return to court on September 29 for a mention of his charges stemming from the QCCC investigation.
