BIKER NEWS: Bikers kick off first toy run of 2015 for 630 CHED Santas Anonymous
BN- Motorcycles were roaring in and out of Hawrelak Park Sunday afternoon bringing Christmas gifts for children in need.
It’s for the annual 630 CHED Santas Anonymous Motorcycle Toy Run and the convoy starts at Capilano Mall led by Santa.
“It’s a really good turn out this year,” says Santa.
“I’m glad the weather finally held out for us. Last year there was a little bit of rain, but this year I think of the wind we can handle that.”
Trevor Nicholls has helped Santas anonymous in the past, but this year is his first year taking part in the motorcycle motorcade to deliver presents.
“I love the look on the kids faces, the adults faces, I mean, everybody’s. You know, something about Santa just brings them out. Smiles. It’s almost like Christmas again,” says Nicholls.
“My girls helped me pick out the toys and get them strapped on the bike and that and every Christmas we try to give back, so we’ve taken our daughters out to deliver the toys and it’s pretty nice to see where it’s going and how it’s helping the kids.”
Denise Kerychuk has done the toy run before and she says it shows the Edmonton motorcycle community’s true colours.
“It shows that, you know what? We all have families, we all have loved ones; we choose to ride motorcycles,” says Kerychuk.

“And there may be one or two bad apples in a zillion, so, you know what? This shows that all riders have a big heart and we’re here for the kids and the families that need it.”
Over 1,000 motorcyclists took part in this year’s toy run.
