BIKER NEWS: Former bikie Toby Mitchell launches more attacks on social media over alleged road rage assault on cyclist
BN- Former bikie strongman Toby Mitchell is at it again on social media, telling his supporters that he is looking forward to getting a "weak dog" cyclist - whom he last week admitted punching - into the witness box.
Mr Mitchell has been accused of getting out of his luxury car and bashing the 31-year-old cyclist last Monday night after the pair allegedly became embroiled in a verbal altercation over bike lanes at an intersection in the Docklands.
The former Bandidos sergeant-at-arms posted two new blasts on his Instagram account on Monday this week in response to comments to a tirade and photo he posted on Saturday that was picked up by media outlets, including Fairfax Media.
"I guess if you new [sic] the whole story instead of just reading the papers you would understand why I lost it," he wrote.
"But that will come out in the court case witch [sic] I am looking forward to getting the weak dog in the box so he can tell everyone what he said and what happens."
He finished the post off with two "smiley face" emoticons. In another post, he called the alleged victim a "rat".
"Everyone's a tuff [sic] c--- these days and then they lag when the [sic] get knocked the f--- out," he wrote.
Monday's comments come after he posted a photo of himself emerging from custody, surrounded by media, with the words "Straight Outta Custody," which mocked the gangster "Straight Outta Compton" meme that has taken off on social media to coincide with a new movie about the rapper Ice Cube.
"After I get told through my passenger window that I am a tuff c--- in the car by a weak dog cyclist I get out and I said I am out of the car and I am still a tuff c--- lets see how tough he is. 1 bitch slap and KO lights out," Mr Mitchell posted underneath the photo.
The post attracted 1500 "likes" and a plethora of comments from his followers. including "Media talks shit", "Was he on Beach Road? Pity more don't get slapped down there!!" and "Use the f---ing bike lane or start paying rego!".
There were some detractors in the litany of supporters, with two posts telling Mr Mitchell to "Stop bullying cyclist. Pick on someone ur own size" and "You're a mindless thug. Grow up."
Mr Mitchell was charged on Friday with conduct endangering persons, driving in a dangerous manner and intentionally and recklessly causing serious injury over the alleged road rage attack on a cyclist on Harbour Esplanade on September 7.
The 40-year-old was bailed by the magistrate in a subsequent hearing that afternoon, his lawyer Theo Magazis telling the Melbourne Magistrates Court that his client had made no admissions to police and there were matters in dispute.
Echo taskforce Detective Senior Constable Andrew Sward told the court hearing Mr Mitchell pulled up alongside the cyclist near the intersection of Collins Street and asked him "Why aren't you using the bike lane?".
The cyclist replied: "You're in a car, you can use the freeway", Senior Constable Sward said.
The court was told that Mr Mitchell allegedly drove his white Mercedes-Benz at the cyclist, who was forced to take evasive action. The former heavyweight kickboxer got out of his car and punched the cyclist in the face before fleeing the scene.
Mr Mitchell also told his Instagram followers of his contempt for the Echo taskforce, which was established by Victoria Police to investigate links between outlaw motorcycle gangs and organised crime.
"And I can't believe ECHO gang squad are doing traffic offences these days. Must be struggling for work or they just miss me so much they just won't leave me alone."
