BIKER NEWS: Toby Mitchell charged over alleged road rage attack in Docklands

BN- GANGLAND identity Toby Mitchell questioned why a cyclist drifted from a bike lane before punching him in the face, a court has heard.

Mitchell has been freed on bail after being charged over a bashing near his Docklands home.

The former Bandidos strongman faced Melbourne Magistrates’ Court after voluntarily arriving at Crime Command headquarters to be questioned by officers from the Echo anti-bikie taskforce on Friday morning.

It was alleged he was driving his white Mercedes-Benz on Harbour Esplanade on Monday when he became involved in a heated exchange with the rider.

“Why aren’t you in the bike lane?” Mitchell allegedly asked.

It was alleged the former bikie gang sergeant-at-arms then punched the cyclist, a stranger, to the face.

The victim, 31, suffered swelling and the incident was seen by two witnesses, the court heard.

Detective Sen-Const. Andrew Sward opposed bail, saying he was concerned Mitchell would reoffend.

But magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg granted bail, ordering the 40-year-old not to contact any witnesses and to reappear on September 25.

Mitchell, who has been wounded in two shooting ambushes in recent years, was ordered to undergo a court course for anger management issues.

The charges came three days after investigators visited Mitchell’s South Melbourne tattoo parlour, City of Ink.
