BIKER NEWS: Witnesses uncooperative in Los Chavez motorcycle club shooting

BN- State police are having a tough time solving Sunday’s deadly motorcycle club shooting in Los Chavez. Investigators said two gang members are dead, and so far, police haven't had a whole lot of cooperation.

Medical investigators conducted autopsies on the two victims Monday. Police are still waiting on the results.

"We don't have time limits on this because we want to do it right," said Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo, with New Mexico State Police.

Armijo said investigators are conducting a thorough investigation into who killed the two men after midnight Sunday at the Allsup’s gas station.

"We don’t really have any information as far as what led up to the situation, how it was initiated, what exactly went down," explained Armijo.

Investigators said the case is tough to solve because of the complex crime scene and lack of cooperative witnesses.

"When officers arrived, from what I understand, there weren't many people there waiting to give an interview. Most people had left the scene," said Armijo.

However, police say whoever was involved left behind a lot of evidence. They're sifting through it, looking for any clues.

"We're looking, obviously. We're trying to get any surveillance footage, any witness testimonies, anybody that may’ve seen anything or heard anything," Armijo said. "We're still trying to piece all that together."

Aside from the two men killed, two other men were shot and taken to an Albuquerque hospital for treatment.

State police haven’t confirmed which motorcycle clubs or gangs were involved. They also haven't said anything about the Bandidos motorcycle left at the crime scene.

People who have information on this case are urged to call state police.
