Eagan triple stabbing involved rival biker gangs, police say
The fight at an Eagan restaurant that led to three people being stabbed involved rival motorcycle groups, police said Wednesday.
Citing the investigation, Eagan police would not provide details of the groups or what caused the fight, which broke out Friday night at Casper's Cherokee restaurant.
The suspect -- a 27-year-old man who police say stabbed three other men -- remained at large late Wednesday, said Detective Desiree Schroepfer, police spokeswoman. Investigators identified him shortly after the incident.
Police submitted the case Wednesday to the Dakota County attorney's office for assault and disorderly conduct charges, Schroepfer said.
Also Wednesday, a 34-year-old man who suffered stab wounds to the chest and stomach was released from the hospital, Schroepfer said. He had been listed in serious condition Tuesday.
The two other victims, ages 45 and 31, were treated and released earlier.
Witnesses said that four men had been arguing inside the restaurant at 4625 Nicols Road and that the altercation spilled outside.
One man stabbed three others and then ran off, police said.
Rick Casper, co-owner of Casper's Cherokee, said this week that the victims pulled up on their motorcycles with their wives or girlfriends, went to the patio area and ordered drinks. Within five minutes, a second group arrived and "they all went to the parking lot," he said.
