BIKER NEWS: Bikers gather for honor ride to help vets
BN- A motorcycle group began their trip from Little Rock to Hot Springs on Saturday as a way to pay their respects to veterans.
The Arkansas Honor Ride is a non-profit motorcycle gathering that, for the second straight year, helped put on the Purple Heart parade. The event is a way to raise money for both military and veteran charities.
Organizers asked a new biker group to help this year, the "A-State Boys" Motorcycle Club. For them, involvement comes naturally.
"We are a military based group as in, you know, most motorcycle clubs are. We just feel it's important to support the military community," said Travis Lemmons with the A-State Boys Motorcycle Club.
The ride started at Rodney Cycles in Little Rock and ended at Veterans Memorial in Hot Springs. The money raised from the event will go towards the Brooke Army Hospital and the Warrior and Family Support Center there.
