BIKER NEWS: Convoy of Harley-Davidsons take blushing East Kilbride biker family bride to wedding

BN- A bride certainly didn’t need to get revved up for her big day – for she was joined by a convoy of Harley-Davidsons.

Victoria Simpson (27) turned more than a few heads when she married husband Steven (28), from Gardenhall, at the Crutherland House Hotel on Saturday.

The bridal party were led by a group of burley bikers from Victoria’s family home in Westwood to the East Kilbride hotel.

The convoy was organised by Victoria’s dad, William Corson, a well-known local businessman.

He is a lifelong biker and former chair of the Clyde Valley Harley Owners Group, and, although Victoria doesn’t ride herself, she has grown up attending various meets and days out with her dad.

And while husband Steven, a former pupil of Duncanrig High, isn’t a biker, he has joined Victoria and her dad at many of the group’s events.

The blushing bride told the News: “I have grown up with the guys from the Harley-Davidson group and they asked my dad if they could do this for me.

“I, of course, said yes and was really touched.

“It definitely added a special something to the day and made it more unique to us.

“Steven was delighted as well because he has joined my dad and I at quite a few of the meets recently.”

She added: “We had the whole street out when I was leaving my mum and dad’s house.

“Also, when we arrived at the Crutherland quite a lot of our friends and family got a surprise as we had kept it quiet.

“It was a great day and Steven and I would like to thank the guys for making it all the more memorable.

“One thing is for sure, I don’t know how many brides are led to their wedding by a pack of Harley-Davidsons and the wedding pictures certainly won’t be run-of-the-mill.”

The couple, who met nine years ago through a mutual friend and run Marini’s fish and chip shops in Uddingston and Glasgow, are now honeymooning in Thailand.
