BIKER NEWS: Killeen Woman Meets the Bikers Who Saved Her Life

BN- KCEN -- On Sunday, September 13 Trina Cleveland was driving to Austin from Killeen on 195 when a sudden lane shift marked by traffic cones caused her to spin out of control and go through a deer fence, rolling the car several times. Cleveland and her daughter were ejected from the vehicle. There injuries were such that they could not get up and had no way to call for help. Cleveland suffered multiple fractures and punctured both lungs.

But laying there, unable to move, Cleveland heard motorcycles go by. Then voices telling her not to get up and that help was on the way. She was transported to the hospital. Her daughter was airlifted. Her three grandchildren in the vehicle were saved. She had no idea who saved them.

It was then that she put a message on Craigslist that she had been saved by bikers and wanted to know who they were. The post went viral, and in short time she got a response.

Cleveland had been saved by six bikers who were on their way back to Georgetown from Nolanville. They were also some of the founding members of Freedom Road Biker Church in Nolanville. The pastor, Jimmy Van Loozen, was one of the men who pulled her grandchildren out of the rolled car. Another member, Kevin McFarlin was the one who saw her go off the road and through the fence that night. According to McFarlin, the area Cleveland crashed in was so dark and low that any other motorist would not have been able to see them.

On Thursday, October 22, Cleveland and her daughter Baylee were able to meet those who rescued them for the very first time at the Pflugerville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Both Cleveland and Baylee publicly thanked the bikers for stopping to help them and saving their lives. Pastor Van Loozen led them in prayer and invited them to Freedom Road Biker Church.

Cleveland is still rehabilitating at the center. She suffered 32 fractures including her pelvis on both sides and will have to learn to walk again. An entrepreneur, Cleveland was just making ends meet before the accident and is now in financial need. She has set a GoFundMe page to get back on her feet.
