BIKER NEWS: THE MOST DAPPER GROUP OF BIKERS YOU’LL EVER MEET

When you think bikers, you don't typically think bow ties. But this past weekend’s Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride in NYC featured quite a few flapping in the breeze as more than 400 riders zoomed up the west side of Manhattan, from South Street Seaport to Lincoln Center and back again. These high-class hogheads replaced token leather vests and graphic tees with blazers and button-downs. (We even spotted three-piece suits and a pocket square or two.) The bikes were equally dressed to impress—hundreds of custom-built, vintage, and show-quality models. The special occasion? The DGR is an international effort, founded in Sydney in 2012, for which thousands all over the world ride to raise awareness of and funds for prostate-cancer research. New York City’s group of well-groomed vroomers helped to collected $2.25 million! Turns out you can have a passion for petrol and a sense of propriety.
