BIKER NEWS: Police tight with details about motorcycle club shooting at Orange Park billiard hall

BIKER NEWS -- Orange Park police identified the man killed at a billiard hall Saturday as 43-year-old Michael Dion Rogers.

An unidentified member of a motorcycle club shot Rogers several times at Park Avenue Billiards at 714 Park Avenue just before midnight Saturday, police said. According to authorities, members of two motorcycle clubs, the Outcasts and the Soul Brothers, were fighting inside the billiard hall. Detectives determined the fight started over insignia on one of the clubs vests. Another person — whose identity hasn’t been released by police — was also shot.

The identity of the person who police believe shot Rogers is also not being released at this time, Police Chief Gary Goble said in an email.

Police have not said whether Rogers is a member of one of the motorcycle clubs involved; also they have not named the shooter or his club affiliation.

A phone call and an email seeking clarification on a two-paragraph news release have not been returned.

An arrest in the case also has not been announced.

Police talked with owners of Park Avenue Billiards and other bars in Orange Park about beefing up security to prevent biker-on-biker retaliation.
