BIKER NEWS: Search for accused arsonist in Palm Bay motorcycle club fire

BIKER NEWS -- PALM BAY, Fla. - The Palm Bay Police Department is searching for a woman they said started a fire at a motorcycle club last month.

Davi Carnevale, 46, is wanted for arson from the Oct. 10, 2015 fire on the 2500 block of Victoria Avenue in Palm Bay. The fire caused about $8,000 in damage.

Investigators said that Carnevale is seen on surveillance video pulling up to the facility at the time of the fire, and then quickly driving away.

"She parked her van, walked over to the area where the fire was started. That portion of it is off camera. She was there about a minute. She walks back to her vehicle, and almost immediately after she leaves you can see the glow of the fire on the buildings across the street," said Detective Steve Hill. 

Owner of Bikers in Need, Ellen Gochenauer said that Carnevale had visited their club in the past, but was asked to leave after she appeared to be intoxicated.

"We are a private club so you know and she was pretty tipsy and we just asked her to leave," said Gochenauer.

Investigators said they spoke with Carnevale after the incident, adding she denied being involved. Once an arrest warrant was issued, law enforcement said she went into hiding. 

Gochenauer said that her motorcycle club was started with her late husband in 2009, and helps provide food for the area biker community. She said she's thankful to be up and running in time for Thanksgiving.

"We got 12 families for pick up for full course turkey dinner, so we got 12 families now," said Gochenauer.
