BIKER NEWS: Bikers surprise woman with money donation

BIKER NEWS -- DENVER -- Just a couple days after receiving a brand new and graciously donated -furnace, Michelle McFarlin came to Grogan'a Pub in north Denver to thank the biker group who gave it to her.

McFarlin's old furnace stopped working in recent weeks, and her repairman -- Steve Lawrence -- said it was not fixable.

He told McFarlin, a disabled mother of two teenage girls, a new furnace would cost more than $4,000 -- money she doesn't have. But he didn't stop there.

Lawrence went to one of his favorite Facebook groups -- Colorado Bikers -- to ask for help. He wanted to make sure McFarlin had a warm Christmas.

People in the group rallied to donate a new furnace to McFarlin, completely free of charge. Lawrence donated two days of his time to install it, also free of charge.

On Friday, McFarlin showed up to thank those in the group that helped her and her family.

And in return, they held a surprise auction and donated 1,810 to McFarlin, who was absolutely stunned.

"I had no idea that was coming. I thought I was basically going to come here and thank everyone for everything," she said. "Especially when they said, welcome to my biker community. I know I have friends out there that can come and visit."

Lawrence told his new friend she has more gifts coming to her.

"Just for them to do this is beyond amazing, you know?" she said. "Being able to give my girls a Christmas, a really good Christmas."
