Hells Angels, Nomad arrested on Gold Coast after Taskforce Maxima raids
TWO Hells Angels and a Nomad are the latest bikies to be arrested after Taskforce Maxima raids on the Gold Coast.
As a result of ongoing investigations, detectives from Taskforce Maxima, State Crime Command executed search warrants on two addresses in the region.
On Tuesday, search warrants were executed on two Varsity Lakes addresses. Steroids and restricted drugs were allegedly found.
A 26-year-old Varsity Lake man, a patched member of the Hells Angels Gold Coast chapter, was arrested for one count of the possession of dangerous drugs and one count of possession of a restricted drug.
A 27-year-old Varsity Lakes man, a patched member and office bearer of the Hells Angels Gold Coast chapter, was also arrested for one count of the possession of dangerous drugs and one count of possession of a restricted drug.
Both are due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on January 9, 2017.
On Wednesday a search warrant was executed on an address in Carrara and approximately 75 grams of ice, cannabis and utensils were found, police say.
A 44-year-old Carrara man, a patched member of the Nomads Gold Coast chapter, was arrested on one count each of possession of dangerous drugs (exceeding schedule 1), possession of dangerous drugs, possession of things used, possession of a utensil and possession of ammunition.
He has been held in custody to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 1, 2016.
A 32-year-old Carrara woman was also arrested for one count each of possession of dangerous drugs (exceeding schedule 1), possession of dangerous drugs, possession of things used, possession of a utensil and possession of ammunition.
She will appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on 10 January 2016.
A 33-year-old Chevron Island woman was also arrested for one count of the possession of restricted drug and one count of possession of tainted property relating to a counterfeit $50 dollar note.
“Once again, we are finding OMCG members in possession of dangerous drugs. Members of this OMCG gang have been arrested on multiple occasions and they need to understand, if they continue to offend they will be targeted. We make no apologies for this,” Detective Superintendent Michael Niland from Task Force Maxima said.
“Offenders need to understand enforcement action will be taken whenever we have the sufficient evidence. We will come back as many times as it is necessary. The community expect us to do this and accordingly, we will be unrelenting in our efforts.”
