Kickstands for Cancer Poker Run
Even a community as grisly and tough as bikers is affected by cancer.
That's why hundreds of leather clad riders gathered in Velva this morning, and put up their 'Kickstands for Cancer'.
It's the third annual poker run starting and ending at the Dakota Roughrider and Saddle Club.
Organizers say they are floored each year by how many more choppers join the run, adding to the cash that gets donated to local cancer care.
New Horizon Motorcycle Club ganged up with Kickstands for Cancer to remember and honor cancer victims and survivors.
(Sid Lavallie, Vice President, New Horizons MC) "It is very beautiful looking at a line of bikes, headlight to taillight, the pipes are just awesome, the ride is awesome. And it's amazing when you see it, it'll light your face up and give you a smile. I mean right now there's fourteen different clubs here and that's awesome 'cause we're together as one."
The run will wrap up this evening back at the Saddle Club, with the winning hand taking home over fourteen hundred dollars and and nearly six thousand dollars going to local cancer charity.
