BIKER NEWS: Melbourne bikies running illegal bar: police
BN- A MELBOURNE bikie gang has been running a hidden bar and hiding weapons and drugs inside, police allege.
Victoria police executed simultaneous search warrants yesterday on properties in Windsor, Parkdale, Aspendale and Braeside in connection with an investigation into drug trafficking and liquor offences.
Police said they arrested a 58-year-old man and alleged the raids uncovered drugs, weapons, cash and a large amount of liquor.
Victoria police Southern Division Investigations Inspector John Cormack said the gang was operating a bar without a liquor licence.
"Our investigation has identified a factory in Braeside which includes a purpose-built bar," he said, adding the operation was aimed to keep gangs "accountable".
He said police believed the bar was a place of assembly for the outlaw gang, and appealed to the public for information.
