BIKER NEWS: Palm Bay woman accused of sparking fire at biker club
BIKER NEWS -- PALM BAY, Fla. —Police are searching for clues after a suspicious fire at a Brevard County charity.
Authorities said surveillance video at 4 a.m. on Oct. 10 showed a minivan on Victoria Drive in Palm Bay. They said Davi Carnivale Taylor exited the vehicle and got a gasoline container and a gasoline-soaked rag before walking toward the building.
Investigators said the resulting fire damaged a side of the building into the attic.
"Once it starts getting in there, it's going to spread throughout the structure," Palm Bay Fire Marshal Ron Bailey said.
Officials said the fire could clearly be seen as the vehicle drove away.
"I really don't understand it," Bikers in Need representative Ellen Gochenauer said. "All we do is help people."
Gochenauer said the damage will cost the charity thousands of dollars.
Bikers in Need feeds five to 10 families each month.
"She really upset the community," Bikers in Need representative Becky Frazier said. "She really upset the community. She kept us from helping some people for weeks."
Police said Taylor had been kicked out of the building for drunkenness.
"She's basically running from us," Palm Bay Police Department spokesman Steve Hill said.
Authorities said it took several weeks to get enough evidence for a warrant for Taylor's arrest.
