BIKERNEWS: NMSP: Shooting was Bandidos, Poor Boys confrontation

2 killed in Los Chavez gas station shooting

BN- Two men are dead after a shootout in Valencia County. Sources told Action 7 News a turf war between two rival gangs sparked the shooting.

Authorities have confirmed the Bandidos motorcycle club was involved, as well as members of the Poor Boys motorcycle club.

The incident occurred just after midnight Sunday at a gas station along Route 314 in Los Chavez.

Sean Duffey, 38, of Albuquerque died in the parking lot confrontation. He was a Bandidos member. Danny Macias, 40, of Belen, also died. He was a Poor Boys member.

Duffey and Macias were killed by bullets, an autopsy confirmed.

Three others were injured in the confrontation. They were treated at an area hospital for gunshot wounds.

Anyone with information about this case should call the New Mexico State Police at 505-841-9256 Option 3.

In March, police said the Bandidos were involved in a shooting at an Albuquerque Applebee's restaurant. Investigators said that was also the result of a confrontation with a rival group. Authorities had trouble getting witnesses to talk about that incident as well.

In May, the Bandidos clashed with other gangs in a shooting at a Waco, Texas, restaurant. Nine people were killed and more than 150 bikers were arrested.
